Simpson’s account of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife and one of her friends, the company said Wednesday.

Beaufort Books was aiming for an October 3 release of the book, in which Simpson describes how he would have killed Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ronald Goldman.

Plans by Simpson to release the book last year sparked a wave of outrage across the United States, prompting publisher HarperCollins to scrap the title and Fox News to cancel an accompanying television interview.

Simpson, 60, who always has vehemently denied involvement in the killings, was acquitted of killing ex-wife and Goldman after a racially charged trial in 1995. The verdict sparked outrage in much of America.

He was later found liable for the deaths in a 1997 civil suit and ordered to pay 33.5 million dollars in damages to Goldman’s family.

The case took a further twist when a US judge in March ruled that any income from the book should go to the Goldman family to cover the damages award made in the civil case but never paid by Simpson.

Another judge later awarded the rights of the book to the Goldman family.

A spokesman for literary agent Sharlene Martin, who handled the deal, earlier said that the book was to be repackaged by the new publisher.

The publisher “pledged to leave Simpson’s manuscript entirely intact, but they will also add key commentary,” spokesman Michael Wright said in a statement, without elaborating on the commentary.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A Los Angeles woman who was driving a car that Lindsay Lohan is accused of chasing through city streets in July sued the troubled actress on Tuesday, claiming her behavior could have caused injury or death.Tracie Rice is seeking unspecified damages for assault and infliction of emotional distress by the 21-year-old actress, who was arrested and accused of criminal drunken driving and drug possession after the predawn chase.”What Miss Lohan did that night was extremely dangerous and reprehensible. Someone could easily have been killed or seriously hurt because of her irresponsible decisions,” Rice said in a statement released by her Los Angeles attorneys.

Lohan was arrested in the early morning hours of July 24 by police in Santa Monica, California, a beach community in Los Angeles County. It was the second time the actress had been charged with drunken driving in recent weeks.

The lawsuit said Rice was a passenger in a car driven by Michelle Peck, the mother of Lohan’s personal assistant who quit working for the actress only hours earlier.

The suit describes a high-speed car chase during which Rice and Peck believed they could be carjacked or shot at.

“Plaintiff was convinced that their lives were in danger and that they had to outrun the pursuing car or they might be killed,” the suit said.

Peck led the car Lohan allegedly was driving directly to the Santa Monica police station, where officers questioned all involved and arrested Lohan.

The actress was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, cocaine possession, bringing a controlled substance into custody and driving on a suspended license.

At the time, Lohan was wearing an alcohol monitoring bracelet following a recent stint in a rehabilitation clinic, and her lawyer issued a statement saying the actress suffered a relapse and was receiving medical care.

Lohan’s spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment on the lawsuit on Tuesday.

Lohan, whose recent movies “Georgia Rule” and “I Know Who Killed Me,” bombed at box offices, crashed her car in May and was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving. She entered a 45-day rehabilitation program and was released in mid-July, only days before the car chase.

She shot to stardom as a child actress in Disney movies such as “The Parent Trap” and “Freaky Friday.”

May 23, 2007 · Congress is expected to hear testimony Wednesday from Monica Goodling, who served as a key link between the White House and the Justice Department as decisions were made to dismiss eight U.S. attorneys. She may give congressional Democrats some of the answers they’ve sought regarding the motive for the firings.

Most of what Congress knows about the White House’s involvement in the firings has come from indirect clues dropped in testimony by other officials. The White House will only let Congress interview the president’s advisers in private without an oath or transcript.

That’s why Congress was eager enough to hear from Monica Goodling that they granted her immunity to testify. As the Justice Department’s White House liaison, she may be able to give the first clear view into the White House’s role.

Harvard Law Professor David Barron says the arrows pointing to the White House may also give a clue about why Gonzales remains in his job despite bipartisan calls for him to resign.

“The more that these investigations begin to touch on the conduct of the president himself, the more need there may be for the president to keep the attorney general in office, for fear that if he goes, then the president stands exposed directly to the investigations,” Barron said.

Before the scandal exploded, a top aide to the deputy attorney general testified that the White House played a minor role in the dismissal of the prosecutors.

E-mail has since revealed that the idea to fire the U.S. attorneys originated at the White House.

And when Attorney General Alberto Gonzales’ former chief of staff, Kyle Sampson, testified before Congress about who made the final firing decisions, he said this:

“The decision makers in this case were the attorney general and the counsel to the president.”

That places the White House at the beginning and the end of the firing process. But the big question that no one has answered is who handled the middle? How did the names on the list get there in the first place?

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales has told Congress that he doesn’t know.

“What I understood was that the recommendation that would come to me would be a consensus recommendation of people that I trusted,” he said.

White House involvement in U.S. attorney hirings and firings is perfectly acceptable unless partisan politics played a role where it shouldn’t have. And in this case, there are allegations that politics influenced the firings.

For example, the Senate ethics committee is investigating whether Sen. Pete Domenici, a New Mexico Republican, improperly pushed U.S. Attorney David Iglesias to indict Democrats before the 2007 election.

Iglesias was later fired. Gonzales has testified that he doesn’t know who first suggested Iglesias be dismisssed, but people at the White House expressed concern.

“I’d heard concerns raised by [presidential adviser Karl] Rove,” Gonzales told Congress. “And what I know today … is that there was a meeting in October with the president in which the president, as I understand it, relayed to me similar concerns about pursuing election fraud.”

Rove also played a role in the dismissal of Arkansas’ U.S. attorney. The new prosecutor there, Tim Griffin, worked for Rove. In fact, the Justice Department had to backpedal from a letter to Congress that said Rove played no role in the replacements after internal e-mail showed that Rove was very involved.

And last week, the White House unexpectedly popped up in another Justice Department controversy.

Back when Gonzales was White House counsel, someone sent him to Attorney General John Ashcroft’s hospital room.

Even though Ashcroft had signed his authority over to Deputy Attorney General James Comey, Gonzales urged Ashcroft to override Comey and authorize the president’s secret domestic spying program.

Comey also said he had “some recollection” that President Bush was involved enough to make a call to Ashcroft’s wife, telling her that Gonzales and White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card were on their way to the hospital to see her ailing husband.

“I don’t know that for sure,” Comey said, but added that the call to Mrs. Ashcroft “came from the White House.”

The day after Comey’s testimony, a reporter asked President Bush whether he placed the call.

“There’s a lot of speculation about what happened and what didn’t happen,” the president said, adding that he wouldn’t talk about it.

Earlier this week the president said Gonzales has done nothing wrong, and Mr. Bush continues to stand by him.

Saddam Hussein, former Iraqi president was hanged to death this morning. The procutions i think it’s not fair. It look like it’s has been arrage by America. Two of Saddam Lawyer was been killed and many lawyer change during procecution.

This not suppost to happened because Saddam Hussein suppost to be protected because he was former president. Even he was make mistake when killing their enemy. If Saddam can be hang.Bush Senior and Bush Junior also should be hang and can be hang. They killed thousang of people in Iraq and Afganistan.

Why people close their eye when that blood sucker(Bush) killing innocent people in Iraq and Afganistan. More than 3000 US soldier died because his stupid action in Iraq.

Human Rights Watch criticized the execution, calling Saddam’s trial “deeply flawed.”

“Saddam Hussein was responsible for massive human rights violations, but that can’t justify giving him the death penalty, which is a cruel and inhuman punishment,” said Richard Dicker, director of Human Rights Watch’s International Justice Program.

This sentence was not right. But nothing can we do because Saddam is already dead right now. But it’s could be prevented in the future. Everyone has their right to get the best trial. We cannot assume that person guilty if there no prove.

President of any country should be protected. But this time Bush want to cover his mistake by killing Saddam. I think it just cause more violent in Iraq. I predicted there will more violent in Iraq. Sivil War will start in Iraq. The most important more US soldier will died in Iraq.

More parent will lost their sons in Iraq because of Bush mistake. US should called back all their soldier. They can be heroes at Iraq. They just wait to be killed by them because Iraq was one of US failed project. US help Iraq to stop Iran but now Iran become more stronger and Iraq was collapse with sivil war among Sunnis and Shiites in Iraq.

We as world civilians, what should we do? Just watch or try change it? Bush already lost. He should accepted. Bring back US soldier home. Let them live happily with their family and not let them died in Iraq. They don’t deserve to died because Bush want to control the world oil supply.
